
ABOUT THE NATIONAL PAVILION OF EGYPT
The Egypt Pavilion at the Giardini della Biennale in Venice is Egypt’s national exhibition space for International Art Exhibitions of La Biennale di Venezia. Commissioned by the Egyptian ministry of culture – Accademia d'Egitto a Roma, the National Pavilion of Egypt has participated since 1938, making it one of the longest-standing participants.
It occupies a building designed in 1932 by Italian architect Brenno Del Giudice, which has been Egypt’s permeant home since 1952. In 1995 Egypt was awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Pavilion. It represents Egypt's rich artistic heritage while showcasing contemporary innovation on the international stage.
